I found Dennis Foley Plumbing through Angie’s List and contacted them for estimates on work to be done on a two-family house I had purchased in Medford. I needed both furnaces replaced for a conversion to gas heat as well as a variety of smaller plumbing jobs. The estimates I received were accurate, and the work was done on time and in a professional manner. Tom, the representative who provided estimates, listened to my concerns about renovations to the first floor apartment, which was being prepared for my elderly parents. He made recommendations I hadn’t thought of, which resulted in renovations that were better suited to their needs. Dennis Foley’s plumbers also efficiently addressed problems with uneven heating from the old steam radiator system in the second apartment in this house. I have also found the administrative end of his business to be efficient and pleasant in responding to my requests for duplicate invoices so that I could file for rebates from the utility companies. I highly recommend Dennis Foley Plumbing for its workmanship, reasonable prices, and follow through.

Dennis was very flexible. I arranged for delivery of the new appliances and he set his schedule around the delivery. Matt, who works for Dennis, was very polite. He was right on time and helped me unhook the washer even though it was not part of the original service call and was practically glued to the pipes. He left his cell phone number so that he could come the next day as soon as the delivery was complete.

I recently had a steam boiler installed by the gas company. It became apparent that it wasn’t operating properly (noisy, and sometimes the radiators would fill with water…) and so I asked Angie’s List to recommend experts in steam heating. Dennis came to our house knowing that his visit would likely not result in my hiring him to do the work (i.e I needed his expert opinion about the boiler installation before I took up matters with the gas company). Indeed, he pointed out several problems with the install, and he sent me a letter outlining his findings and the proposed cost to repair. I’m taking this info to the gas company to make a case for a re-installation. Dennis went way above and beyond on this call – it shows his willingness to be helpful, and he obviously takes pride in his expertise about steam heating such that he wants to share his knowledge with others. I suspect there will be other work to do on our 100 year old steam piping, and Dennis is on the top of my call list!

Someone I met gave me the name of Dennis Foley to fix a leak I had in my bathroom. Before I bought my house, I knew there was a leak from the bathroom going in to the living room ceiling, but didn’t know where the leak was coming from. A few people came in to look at what could be the culprit, but when Dennis’ guy came by, he determined the leak was from the toilet – a poor quality one. Long story short, I ended up with new toilet, a new hot water heater (which has a lifetime warranty), garbage disposal and kitchen sink fixture. I love this company because of the flat rate for work, which, as a new homeowner is desirable. I’m also a member of their “club,” so they have a copy of keys to my home and can get in to my house to work and I don’t need to be around. The man who did the work even called an electrician he knew to do the wiring for the garbage disposal, which saved me time and money!

Darn, wish you were in my area of New Jersey, sounds like your one of a few plumbers that really know what their doing. You don’t have enough space for me to list my horror stories. The people of MA are very fortunate.
